Sosua, DR: The Perfect Escape From Winter

I love the caribbean in winter. So like many others from the USA and Europe we find a lot to like in Sosua. Nice beaches, friendly faces and modest prices are just a few of the reasons to visit and why some have chosen to make it their home.

Winter temperatures range from about 78-88 degrees during the days to 66-72 at night. Although it is a small town and not a city, you hear a lot of German, French, Irish and Italian accents along with Spanish and English that make up this unique international mix.

And did I mention how friendly most of the natives are? I am yet to feel any threat to my security in my 5 visits during the last year. I love the easy going nature of the people and the laid back lifestyle, good fresh local food and the ideal winter climate. It is a great escape from the harsh realities of winter life in northern climates and a place where you can really relax.
